Perhaps what the Turkish president should consider is that the “British Empire” that controlled the globe from “sunrise to sunset” from India in the east to what became known as the United States in the west “shrank” and became threatened with losing what was left of its “national” entities, and which now see that it is better for them to join the European Union after the British had left it without any return sooner or later !!
Of course, Great Britain at the height of its brilliance was more powerful and influential than the Ottoman Empire, but nevertheless it kept shrinking step by step, until it became what it is, when it lost India with all its greatness, and then lost Pakistan in the East, and it had gone out from the far west that became the United States, and gradually gone out of the Arab world from the ocean to the Gulf.
It is clear that Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not read history well, otherwise he would not have gone to Africa to restore: “Ottoman glories,” and he would not have sent his soldiers to Iraqi Kurdistan, knowing that the Turkish-Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) relies in its “national” aspirations on a Kurdish force that constitutes a major weight. In Turkey, which is silent now, the moment of its uprising is near as long as the Turkish president has “cut” the Mediterranean Sea towards Africa while he is singing about the worn out Ottoman glories .. which went with the wind and no longer mentioned in Turkish history books.
The Turkish president, whose historical information confirms that he is not an Ottoman, and that his family came from the town of Erdogan, which was Russian, must realize that the era of imperial expansion is over, and will not return, and that his “jump” to the Arab state (Libya) will be very costly, and if Fayez al-Sarraj, who received him with arms, will be expelled with him when this sick historical moment passes.
