The Digital Acceleration Race

As a leading pioneer in technology and business, the United Arab Emirates has cemented its status amidst the global digital acceleration race.

The UAE has become an important global hub. It boasts one of the world’s best digital governments, with a strategy aimed at digitizing life for citizens through a reliable and robust digital system.

This achieves comprehensive development at the economic, security and environmental levels, supporting sustainability and enhancing innovation.

Keeping pace with this global digital race, Dubai Civil Defence launched the Environmental Preparedness Programme, leveraging artificial intelligence to achieve the objectives of the digital government within the Ministry of Interior’s initiatives.

The department presented its initiatives during its participation in the 23rd edition of GITEX, an international exhibition specializing in showcasing the latest digital and technological developments.

Moreover, it focused on presenting the Environmental Preparedness Programme and leveraging scientific and technological advances to help reduce carbon emissions from fire incidents.

This Programme is the first of its kind in the region. It contains a world map showing the amount of carbon emissions from fire incidents and their impact on climate change and air quality.

Furthermore, this programme marks an important step towards the UAE achieving its goal of reducing emissions by 40% by 2030, as part of its quest to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

This places the UAE at the forefront globally in firefighting and achieving environmental sustainability.
