The UAE: Sustaining the Green Journey

The UAE warmly welcomes all country delegations arriving for COP28, the world’s most significant environmental event, hosted in one of the most sustainable cities – Expo City Dubai.

On November 30, 2023, the world will come together to preserve the earth’s resources for future generations and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

Since the era of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s wise leadership has been committed to charting a green future across all development aspects. His vision to protect the environment and sustain resources established the UAE as a unique global model.

At Dubai Civil Defence, we are proud to build bridges with the world through the region’s first Environmental Preparedness Programme. It features a global map indicating carbon emissions from fire incidents and their impact on climate change and air quality.

Further supporting the UAE’s green journey since its foundation, we have implemented eco-friendly measures to reduce carbon emissions in line with the 2050 climate neutrality goal, leveraged artificial intelligence to predict fires before they occur and collaborated on environmental initiatives recently recognized with eight international certificates. These include a certificate from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), a leading global civil defence organization.

We welcome all incoming delegations and environmental partners, fully prepared to provide excellent round-the-clock service.
