As the coronavirus pandemic continues to bulldoze its way from east to west, and north to south, the world today is facing an unprecedented challenge in which all countries have a single goal in common; protecting the health and safety of their citizens and expats alike.
Coronavirus ended up being a way to test countries’ health and security systems. A way to test people’s awareness and adherence to laws and precautionary measures.
It is no surprise to see the UAE going above and beyond this test. It has stepped its efforts in the battle against COVID-19 locally and globally and extended a helping hand to those in need no matter where they are.
It has sent medical and food supplies to many countries in need ignoring any political differences or disputes, as humanity is what it actually drives the UAE forward.
Adding to that the remarkable efforts being made by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, locally and abroad.
He has intensified contacts with the world leaders to support countries in need and ensure being involved within the united international system that puts the health of people above anything else.
Under his leadership, the UAE has been pushed to the forefront of the world’s best countries in fighting the coronavirus and today the UAE has recorded one of the lowest mortality rates compared to others where Italy’s rate stood at 11% while Germany’s stopped at 1%.
The UAE has also been among countries conducting the highest number of coronavirus (COVID-19) tests and work is now underway to open tens of sophisticated testing centers across the country to test more than 8,500 tests every day.
This pandemic has indeed shown the true meaning of coexistence and loyalty to the country. It was so heartening to see how Emiratis and expats were rushing to volunteer as soon as the government opened the doors for volunteering. Some of whom donated their expertise, money, time, efforts and properties, in an expression of loyalty, love and desire to return the favor to the UAE.
Our country’s giving has gone beyond boundaries. Despite the lock down in most of the counties in the world, the UAE has facilitated the return of expats to their homeland. It has even tested those wishing to return before leaving the country so that their states will not have to bear the cost of 14-day quarantine, along with what it takes of food and medicines.
This why the UAE is a beacon of hope, attracting the attention of the world, where more than 75,000 Americans have preferred to stay in the UAE over going back to their home country, as stated by their ambassadors.
Loudly and proudly, our country is leading by example in dealing with the deadly disease.
With the support and guidance of its wise leadership, the United Arab Emirates has taken a significant global step in environmental conservation and air quality preservation through the launch of …
