The “Rashid Rover”: An Emirati achievement

Under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the state, the UAE is taking firm steps toward space exploration.

After KhalifaSat and the Hope Probe, the UAE is preparing to launch the Rashid lunar rover on a new journey, confirming its pioneering position as a leader in the field of space exploration and enhancing its exceptional experience, which left the world astonished and will do so once more with its second step.

A country led by “Boukhaled” must astonish the world and always lead the scene in every field, thanks to his unlimited support for all ambitious national projects and programs.

When the UAE makes a promise, it delivers. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a statement after the success of the Hope Probe, confirming that the UAE will continue to send vessels into space, and here he is delivering on his promise, as the Rashid rover prepares to set out to the moon, reaching areas no human exploration mission has reached before.

work is proceeding according to schedule, and the Emirates Moon Exploration Project’s team, “the first Arab scientific mission”, has completed many successful tests and experiments, which were announced at the time at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center in conditions simulating space and the moon, in preparation for the launch scheduled from Florida via the space x launch rocket at the end of 2022, making the UAE the fourth country in the world to conduct scientific exploration missions on the moon.

Today, competition has transcended traditional standards, and space has become the preoccupation of developed countries, and the UAE is catching up and becoming one of the leading countries in space exploration, in addition to transferring the knowledge and know-how to others.

In addition to the great scientific gains that are achieved by this step, there are also benefits for our youth and cadres working in this field, as this rover was designed and built with 100% Emirati efforts, and every phase has been done by a team of engineers, experts and researchers.

Similarly to the success of the Hope Probe, which entered Mars’ orbit in 2021, the Rashid rover will enhance the UAE’s position as a leading country in space exploration and sciences, marking a new timeless achievement, after it became the first Arab country to reach the Red Planet.

We are proud of our country’s successive achievements, and our wise and ambitious leadership, which does not settle for anything less than the best, never wavering in its efforts to elevate the Emirates and make its people happy.
