Every day that shines on the United Arab Emirates, it brings with it more pride in our wise leadership, which has proven to the whole world its ability to have impact on international situations and decisions, and has made our country a bright name and a role model among nations and peoples in the values of tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood, which was embodied by the decision of The United Nations General Assembly in New York to adopt the special resolution submitted by the UAE declaring the fourth of February of each year to be the “International Day of Human Fraternity”.
The International Day of Human Fraternity started from here, from the good land of the Emirates, which was raised and brought up on the values established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless his soul; the meanings of tolerant humanity, coexistence, acceptance of the other and propagating values of peace and brotherhood among human beings as a general approach and a loftier goal for the State, its leadership and its people, so that our current leadership after him “may God have mercy on him,” under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces “may God protect him”, complete the values that have been built, and take them towards further development and positive impact on the local, regional and international levels.
The UN decision to make February 4th of every year a global day of human fraternity came as a result of colossal efforts and effective moves by the United Arab Emirates, which did not stop rooting these meanings in the culture and practice of countries and their peoples, because UAE has a philosophy that stability, security and peace will not be achieved unless conflicts and struggles are eliminated, extremism and terrorism are combated, and the values of coexistence, tolerance and acceptance of the different other are spread. These are the principles on which the idea of human fraternity was based, and culminated in the “Historic Document of Human Fraternity”. Today, we are proud of the propagation of the values of the document from the Emirates to the world.
