The UAE is a pioneer in empowering women

When we talk about empowering Emirati women, we recall the great stances of those who made that achievement, in support of the wise leadership of Her Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (Mother of the Emirates), and ambitious positions and initiatives that enabled Emirati women in it, from the history of the union to the present day.

Today, we are on the threshold of preparing for the next fifty years of development and progress made by the people of the Emirates, men and women, hand in hand, united with the exceptional leadership of the UAE, striving for one dream, the unity and elevation of the nation.

From here we see today the fruit of this achievement with the precedence of the Emirates in empowering women in all fields without exceptions, but rather they got the positions and jobs they deserve. Yes, the UAE today was distinguished by reformulating the concepts and practices of government work with a far-reaching outlook, as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, said, which contributed to the government’s approach to strengthening the gender balance index, achieving the UAE’s progress to the 18th position in the gender equality index, and maintaining first place in the Arab world.

Here we see that achievement has exceeded the expectations set by the wise leadership and reached a high indicator in the goal, through which we feel the vision and determination of the UAE to lead the world in achieving humanitarian and professional indicators to be in the gender balance index among the first 25 countries in the year 2021.

Behind these accomplishments are major movers who followed that goal, and even put their lofty mark on it, and the great thanks here to the Gender Balance Council led by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who bet on women and sought realizing the vision of the mother of the Emirates in achieving an exceptional global indicator.

So, I am extremely proud of this achievement, which was expressed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, saying: “We have set the Emirates Council for Gender Balance the goal of the UAE’s accession to the top 25 countries in this field in 2021. And, before the end of 2020, we achieved the goal by advancing the country to the 18th rank in the world in the United Nations Index for Gender Equality while maintaining the first place in the Arab world … Congratulations for our progress, and congratulations to us for our exceptional leadership and the loyal people of the UAE. “
