The whole world watched how the UAE in just a few short years succeeded in turning its great ambitions in the field of space into reality, making unprecedented achievements and witnessing great development in this field, that surpassed all countries in the region.
The UAE made history in 2019 when it announced the arrival of the Emirati astronaut “Hazza Al Mansoori” to the International Space Station, becoming the first Arab astronaut to reach the International Station.
Furthermore, the choice of “Nora Al Matrooshi” as the first Arab female astronaut from 4,000 applicants, within the second batch of the UAE Space Program confirms the role of Emirati women in the field of science and space.
The UAE is a country where nothing is impossible and a role model for building, achievement and giving, as it transformed overnight from a young emerging country to an advanced one capable of invading space and embracing the moon, from a country that yesterday relied on oil as a primary source of income to a country of science and research that explores planets and enters the world of space from its widest gates.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center announced that the Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi had joined a space mission as a part of a space crew for NASA, becoming the first Arab astronaut to spend 6 months in space.
Moreover, the UAE became the 11th country in the world to send its astronauts on a long-term space mission.
Perhaps the contact made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid with the astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi shortly after the successful docking of the spacecraft on which he was launched to the International Space Station is evidence of the encouragement of our wise leadership to the sons of the UAE wherever they travel and land.
May we always move forward, armed with the strength of our leaders.. raising the name and the flag of the Emirates high in the sky.
