Zayed II Military College produces qualified leaders: Mattar Al Dhaheri

Mattar Salem Ali Al Dhaheri, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, said the 50th anniversary of Zayed II Military College coincides with the UAE’s golden jubilee, proving the country has been aware, since its establishment, of the importance of creating a strong army.

In his speech on the occasion, he added the Founding Father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, realised the value of knowledge in all specialities, making him establish a specialised military college.

His speech is as follows: Nearly a month after the formation of the UAE on 2nd December, 1971, by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Founding Fathers, Zayed II Military College was established on 1st February, 1972, showing the country was aware of the need to create a strong national army.

The Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, also realised the value of knowledge and specialisations, which led him to establish a specialist military college to educate citizens and harness human and financial resources to build a strong country.

Today, 50 years after the founding of this prominent academic military establishment, we are entitled to celebrate its advanced academic and professional level. It produces the best military personnel and supplies our national institutions with qualified leaders. The college was strengthened by the legacy of the Founding Father and his philosophy, which still guides everyone in the process of development.

We celebrate 50 years of the expertise and achievements that made Zayed II Military College an international source of military knowledge. The college is appreciated by the country’s leadership, as it was established by the Founding Father and embodied the key role of knowledge in reinforcing the UAE Armed Forces.
