The National Day is an occasion to renew and deliver on the promise of loyalty to the founding fathers of the UAE, especially the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, “God rest their souls”, for the effort, thought and hard work they put into transforming the union into reality and bolstering the pillars of its unity.
Furthermore, it is a day for affirming the UAE’s presence in its regional and international framework, celebrating the value of unity in the hearts and minds of Emiratis, and renewing the promise of allegiance and work to our wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “God bless him”, to preserve the gains of the UAE and raise its flag in international forums.
This year, the 51st annual celebration of the National Day comes as the UAE is at the height of its progress and advancement, ranking first in various fields of development, as attested by major and credible regional bodies and institutions.
While December 2, represents a national memory and a civilized shift full of great achievements that speak to the splendour and greatness of the UAE in various aspects of life, this civilizational development was accompanied by another form of development, the building of individuals through the comprehensive intellectual, cultural and urban development, which made the Emiratis’ presence apparent in every field, enabled them to communicate with the outside world, and more capable of giving and working.
Today, as we celebrate this great historical occasion, we celebrate all the general good achieved by the UAE and its citizens, the landmarks of our achievements and the experiences of citizens in this good and generous land of progress, development and prosperity.
Today, we reaffirm that what has been accomplished over the past 51 years, has never been witnessed in history, thanks to free will and sincere intentions, as our country has witnessed an unprecedented renaissance in every field, surpassing the most developed and advanced countries in the world.
In the Ministry of Defence, our National Day acquires a special meaning felt by its sons, given that their first responsibility as the guardians and protectors of the nation is defending its security, capabilities and wealth.
On this day we renew our allegiance to the Supreme Commander, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “God bless him”, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “God bless him”, and their brothers, Their Highnesses the Sheikhs members of the Federal Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, and we assure them of our readiness to give our lives willingly to protect the security of this dear homeland and defend its sanctities.
We promise them to make every effort so that the Emirates Army remains an institution worthy of the honour of belonging to the United Arab Emirates, capable of shouldering the responsibility of defending its pure land.
