The US tests advanced air defense system

The American prototype of the “Iron Dome” air defense system produced by Israel-based company, Rafael, has completed a series of experiments to simulate the threats that the US Marine Corps is expected to encounter.

The Iron Dome can intercept missiles, mortars, drones, and cruise missiles.

In 2019, Israel sold two Iron Dome batteries to the United States, and since then the US military has been working to integrate the system into its air defense system.

Israel is currently working on developing a high-energy laser-based air defense system, dubbed the Iron Beam, which will operate in tandem with the Iron Dome at the low altitude of the Israeli multi-level air defense system.
