The Director General of the Russian Military Industry Corporation, Alexander Krasovitsky, announced Russia’s development of a multi-purpose wheeled armored platform called “Boomerang”.

He said, “Boomerang is controlled by a smartphone, where we can move the vehicle forward, backwards or U-turn it, and rotate its armored turret and the gun barrel. We can also, via a smartphone, monitor the amount of fuel in the engine and the oil temperature.”

It is noteworthy that the “Boomerang” is a multi-purpose wheeled armored platform after which the Ka-17 wheeled vehicle was designed, as well as the Ka-16 armored personnel carrier, which was first revealed at the Victory Parade in Moscow in 2015.

The Ka-17 infantry fighting vehicle is equipped with an Ebuka armored combat turret, which is equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon, a 7.62 mm machine gun, and Kornet anti-tank guided missiles.

The “Ka-16” armored personnel carrier is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun.
