Command and control tasks in military operations require agility and high performance, and many defence companies around the world have created vehicles that meet these requirements, the most prominent of which is “Oshkosh Defence” which produced high-performance light tactical vehicles in line with the requirements of all modern armies.
Oshkosh Defence’s light tactical vehicles are the go-to vehicles when agility is essential, and performance is paramount. Whether for command and control, troop or cargo transport, shelter carrier, towed weapons movement or as weapons platforms.
Oshkosh’s light tactical vehicles perform in all combat environments, as they can operate over all types of terrain and the most difficult weather conditions, providing mobility, transportability and survivability critical to mission success.
With high power-to-weight ratios and superior ground clearances pinnacled in the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Oshkosh’s light tactical vehicles move swiftly and handle easily, all while providing advanced, modular crew protection and C4ISR technologies for missions at all times with great efficiency and flexibility.
These vehicles are supported throughout the entire lifespan by Oshkosh, a global leader in the design, production and sustainment of best-in-class military vehicles, technology solutions and mobility systems, so they will always be ready anytime and anywhere.
Oshkosh develops and applies emerging technologies that advance safety and mission success, setting the industry standard for sustaining fleet readiness, Oshkosh ensures every solution is supported worldwide throughout its entire life cycle.
This vehicle is designed for never-before-achieved speed, power and protected mobility outside the wire. From its patented TAK-4iTM intelligent independent suspension system to scalable levels of protection and complete plug-and-play C4ISR capability, Oshkosh JLTV is the go-anywhere, do-anything light tactical vehicle.
Featuring unprecedented performance with the patented TAK-4iTM intelligent independent suspension system, the Oshkosh JLTV quickly adjusts to achieve diverse transportability needs whether by air using CH-47 and CH-53 helicopters or C-130, C-5, C-17 and A400 Cargo fixed-wing aircraft, land or sea.
The vehicle is ready on arrival, giving troops the reliability and performance needed for harsh battlefield environments.
COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION SYSTEM
The JLTV achieves the level of protected mobility required to improve survivability in missions at all times with scalable crew protection installed or removed in the field.
VEHICLE SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES PERFORMANCE
Purpose-built with plug-and-play access for the complete range of modern battlefield technologies and aftermarket kits, the JLTV keeps forces connected and it is easy to upgrade as technologies and missions evolve.
The Electric JLTV (eJLTV)
Oshkosh Defence has developed a new version of its Joint Light Tactical Vehicle featuring hybrid-electric technology, which executives say will offer users increased capabilities and improved fuel economy.
The eJLTV offers the same level of performance and protection as the base JLTV with the addition of silent drive, extended silent watch, enhanced fuel economy, and increased exportable power that enables its use in combat and reconnaissance scenarios.
The eJLTV charges the battery while in use, fully recharging the lithium-ion battery within 30 minutes. This eliminates the need for a charging infrastructure, which remains one of the most significant challenges to the widespread electrification of the tactical wheeled vehicle fleet.
JLTV L-ATV variants:
The JLTV family now consists of four base vehicle platforms, Heavy Guns Carrier (JLTV-HGC), Utility (JLTV-UTL), Close Combat Weapons Carrier (JLTV-CCWC) and General Purpose (JLTV-GP).
The JLTV Heavy Guns Carrier (JLTV-HGC)
With a multitude of manned and remotely operated weapon configurations, the Oshkosh Defence JLTV Heavy Guns Carrier (HGC) can pack a lethal punch.
This vehicle is designed to carry a protected gun mount and operate as the principal light vehicle for over-watch and direct fire support of infantry manoeuvres, convoy escort and security missions, in addition, it can be equipped with laser systems to defend against swarming UAV threats.
Its unrivalled TAK-4iTM intelligent independent suspension system provides unimpeded mobility across the most treacherous terrain and the scalable protection allows the Oshkosh JLTV to adapt to ever-evolving threats.
The JLTV Utility (JLTV-UTL)
This variant is built to haul cargo or shelters like no light tactical vehicle before it with speed, power and protected mobility outside the wire.
Its patented TAK-4iTM intelligent independent suspension system enables crews to go over and above the harshest terrain, allowing it to adapt to evolving threats.
The JLTV Close Combat Weapons Carrier (JLTV-CCWC)
The Oshkosh Defence Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) Close Combat Weapons Carrier (CCWC) is designed for never-before-achieved speed, power and protected mobility outside the wire, and its TAK-4iTM intelligent independent suspension system makes it a go-anywhere, do-anything light tactical vehicle.
