The United Arab Emirates has pioneered the World Government Summit.
Since its first edition in 2013, this summit has served as a global platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions among governments, individuals, institutions, and all segments of society in an atmosphere characterised by freedom, openness, and mutual credibility, to enable all the groups of society to participate in shaping their future and that of their country.
By organising this summit, the UAE has proven itself to be one of the most active countries on the international stage in this field.
Moreover, the initiatives launched by the UAE during the previous editions of the summit have demonstrated its daring efforts to enhance institutional and governmental work worldwide, through the use of information and communication technology applications to elevate the level of services provided by governmental institutions to individuals, and to facilitate access to these services for citizens, who constitute the ultimate target of any governmental or developmental work.
The 12th edition of the World Government Summit in 2024 witnessed the participation of over 4,000 specialists in artificial intelligence from around the world, and key players in the rapidly changing technological revolution, representing 140 governments, 85 international organisations, and 700 international companies.
They discussed major global future trends in over 110 main interactive panel discussions, in which 200 global figures spoke, and held 23 ministerial meetings and an executive session attended by over 300 ministers.
The summit also brought together heads of states and politicians who discussed global and regional challenges, and issues affecting their peoples, as well as cooperation between them to devise clear plans to address future challenges.
The UAE designed this summit to be a comprehensive platform that brings together the public and private sectors, along with political decision-makers, to cooperate, share ideas and find common solutions for the advancement of countries through governmental administration and the private sector, as partners that complement one another, and in doing so it succeeded in gaining the appreciation of the entire world.
