The United Arab Emirates Aims for the World’s Best Government

The UAE concluded 2023 with a bundle of local, regional, and global achievements, embarking on its new journey towards governmental excellence and the realm of smart services in the new year of 2024, with positive outcomes in various governmental domains, such as localization, housing, and national legislative plans, which are the primary focus of our wise leadership

On the economic front, the non-oil gross domestic product achieved a growth rate of 5.9% in just the first nine months.
Moreover, the UAE ranked first globally in more than 215 developmental, economic, and human indicators in international reports, affirming the soundness and clarity of the visionary leadership that anticipates the future and works to maintain the country’s position as a steadfast global economic hub under all circumstances and challenges in the region.

Furthermore, the UAE’s strategy for government services 2021-2025 is on the right track, reaping the benefits of enhancing the country’s competitiveness in service delivery and realizing its vision of becoming the world’s best government in public services.

We are pleased to welcome top leaders, decision-makers, and government officials from around the world to the Global Government Summit 2024.
Held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, this summit aims to engage and contribute to the development of tools, policies, and models essential in shaping the governments of the future, covering 6 main axes:
• Enhancing the pace of growth and change for more effective governments
• Artificial intelligence and new future perspectives
• A fresh vision for development and future economies
• The future of education and the aspirations of tomorrow’s societies
• Sustainability and new global transformations
• Urban expansion, and global health priorities

At the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai, we take pride in addressing one of these axes by hosting the World Alliance to Reduce Fire Emissions.
We have implemented an environmental preparedness system measuring emissions from fires worldwide, sending data to fire organizations responsible on each continent.
Through this initiative, we aim to achieve climate neutrality, targeting an 80% reduction in carbon emissions in the UAE by 2050.
The year 2023 was exceptional on all fronts, and we will strive at the same pace to make the new year 2024 another milestone of accomplishments.
