Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “God bless him”, the “Billion Meals” campaign achieved the required success and reached the target number.
The campaign aimed to combat hunger in fifty countries around the world, embodied deep empathy for those in need and suffering around the world, and underlined the influential role played by our country and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in providing assistance and a helping hand to everyone in need, which made the UAE take a pioneering role in humanitarian work.
Through his personal support for the campaign by sponsoring 400 million meals, His Highness set the most wonderful example, a step that reinforces His Highness’s humanitarian approach and an addition to the record of his highness’s continuous good deeds and humanitarian initiatives worldwide.
With his great support and generosity in campaigns and different humanitarian initiatives, His Highness completed the target of (one billion meals).
While the world recovers from the pandemic, this unique initiative underlines the foresight and awareness of His Highness that there is an urgent need to provide food for those who need it now, shortly after the UAE helped and supported different countries by providing vaccine and medical supplies through air bridges during the outbreak of the pandemic.
His Highness and our wise leadership’s helping hands underscore the importance of doing good as a religious and humanitarian duty and affirm the continuity of the UAE’s initiatives in support of the international efforts aimed at eradicating hunger in the world by 2030.
The campaign also complements the humanitarian role played by the UAE and its commitment to the happiness of people, as it is a country of happiness that believes in spreading happiness and positivity all around the world, and positions the UAE as a pioneering country in charitable work in Combating disease, spreading education and knowledge, as well as shaping the future through innovation and leadership, empowering communities and a host of other initiatives in the field of humanitarian and societal development, supporting and serving humanity and spreading happiness in various fields and at all levels.
The campaign went on to achieve its goals over the course of the blessed month of Ramadan, with the participation of most state institutions and businessmen, to get a share of this great reward, reaching (one billion meals), and at the Dubai Civil Defense, we renew our full support for all the initiatives launched by His Highness and confirm our interaction with them based on social roles, as The Dubai civil defense is an integral part of this system whose roles are complementary to each other to achieve lofty goals and the success of our leadership initiatives.
