Every day that dawns on the United Arab Emirates brings with it more pride and reverence for our wise leadership, which has demonstrated its ability to influence international situations and decisions, carving out a shining name and a model to be emulated among nations and peoples in the values of tolerance, coexistence, and brotherhood.
This was embodied by the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the special resolution presented by the UAE declaring the 4th of February of each year as the “International Day of Human Fraternity”.
The International Day of Human Fraternity began here, in the UAE, where the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan instilled the principles of generosity, coexistence, acceptance of others, and the pursuit of peace and fraternity among mankind.
These principles have been nurtured by our current leadership, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to further develop and positively influence at the local, regional, and international levels what has been built on these values.
The UN’s decision to make the 4th of February of each year a global day for human fraternity is the result of tremendous efforts and effective initiatives by the United Arab Emirates, which has consistently rooted these values in the culture and practice of the country and its people.
The UAE believes that stability, security, and peace cannot be achieved without coexistence, tolerance, and accepting others’ differences.
These are the principles on which the concept of human fraternity is based, culminating in the ‘Historic Document on Human Fraternity.’ Today, we take pride in disseminating the document’s values from the UAE to the world.
The UAE will remain faithful to its principles, viewing ethics, higher virtues, and justice based on mercy as the foundation for establishing balanced relationships between nations and peoples, with peace, camaraderie and solidarity forming its approach, and good for all people wherever they may be as its goal.
