Over the span of half a century, the United Arab Emirates has successfully transformed from a nation reliant on traditional maritime fishing and oil into a country that accommodates all ambitions and achieves miracles through investing in its most valuable asset; its people.
Despite the stunning prosperity and progress the UAE has achieved, it has not forgotten its past, adhering to the teachings of its founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who said: ” He who has no past .. has no present or future”.
Thus, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, launched the “Great Arab Minds ” initiative, the largest scientific endeavour in the Arab world, with a budget of 100 million dirhams, aimed at discovering and attracting exceptional minds in the Arab world.
These minds include scientists, thinkers, inventors, distinguished innovators, and creative individuals across various fields, focusing on nurturing, empowering, and developing their ideas in collaboration with the best global partners to maximize their positive impact in the region.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed, “The revival of civilization begins by seeking its true makers and appreciating the scholars, prodigies, and thinkers of the nation on the right path to sovereignty, leadership, and excellence in the future.”
The launch of the “Great Arab Minds” initiative solidifies the UAE’s approach providing an environment conducive to advanced sciences, knowledge, and technology. It does so by attracting and supporting minds and talents to engage in inventing solutions related to future sciences, leveraging artificial intelligence.
The “Great Arab Minds” initiative seeks to empower these scholars to play their part in reviving the Arab civilization and establishing a contemporary and sustainable model of the “Golden Age”, the pinnacle of scientific, cultural, and economic progress in the Arab world.
Under the inspiring leadership of the UAE, the nation will remain at the forefront of development, progress, and advancement, relentlessly striving, with all its might, to advance the world and enrich it with its scholars, creators, and thinkers.
