Upon receiving a report of a fire incident in Al Khawaneej area from one of Dubai Civil Defence’s personnel, ” Al Mizhar Fire Station” responded within five minutes.
Upon arrival, the firefighters witnessed the bravery and exemplary behaviour of their colleague, Ghadeer Al Kaabi, who was present at the scene, rescued and evacuated 24 individuals, including women and children, showing no concern for his own safety and focusing only on the house and its residents whom he believed were akin to his own family and home.
About half an hour after Asr prayer, Ghadeer Al Kaabi noticed smoke rising from a traditional house. He immediately contacted the operations room to report the incident and the location. Not stopping there, he hurried to the scene and took on the responsibility of rescuing the lives residing in the house, unaware of the situation outside.
Once he successfully evacuated all the individuals from the house, the rest of the firefighters arrived and confirmed the evacuation before starting the firefighting operation.
Ghadeer Al Kaabi was honoured for his courageous actions, demonstrating that firefighters possess bravery and quick thinking to make heroic decisions to avert disasters and threats to society.
They are aware of their national duty whether or not they are on duty, embodying the Civil Defence’s mission of ensuring the constant and eternal goal of safeguarding lives and properties.
