The anniversary of the unification of our armed forces constitutes a beautiful memory of a glorious decision issued on the 6th of May in 1976 by the late founder and leader, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
This historic decision united our courageous armed forces under one flag, one banner, and a unified central command to strengthen the pillars of the union, complete its structure, ensure its stability, and achieve the great renaissance that followed.
On the anniversary of the unification of our armed forces, we extend our hands to all members and employees of this esteemed institution, thanking them for their loyalty and dedication.
We pray for their success, for they are the shield and the sword of our nation’s unity and progress.
You are the guardians of the nation, the vigilant eye standing ready to defend the beloved homeland and its civilizational achievements, contributing to the establishment of security, stability, and peace in the country and the region.
Through your efforts the nation reached the heights of prosperity, becoming a beacon among nations, and one of the happiest people in the world, thanks to its strong, advanced armed forces characterised by allegiance to the homeland and its devoted leaders.
As we approach the 48th anniversary of their unification, our Armed Forces have become a towering fortress among the bastions of the union, a noble seed firmly rooted in the ground, bearing fruits of pride and glory in the skies.
They nurture the crucible where the steadfastness of our national resolve melts, shaping us into a leading nation among nations, and ensuring that we remain one people with one army.
Thus, from the depths of our hearts, we thank the leaders who built our great union and supported its blessed march with a united, strong, and advanced national army, trained in the latest weapons and producing them.
Our armed forces have received significant support since their inception, from the era of the late Sheikh Zayed to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and up to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Our leaders have recognised the great importance and the significant role entrusted to our armed forces, facilitating means to enhance their capabilities, providing all the requirements to maintain their level, increase their capacities, and enhance the performance of their officers and soldiers.
They have diligently pursued their ambitious goals, striving towards achieving self-sufficiency in arms, equipment, and expertise, encouraging the defence industries which have grown and flourished quickly, with the country now exporting many locally manufactured weapons to global markets, marking a great achievement in our nation’s development journey.
On this dear anniversary, I cannot help but extend the highest congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, who spared no effort in elevating our beloved homeland and advancing it.
His Highness has generously supported the armed forces, thanks to his experience and wisdom. Our armed forces have become the best example to be emulated in the region and the world.
Thus, we extend our gratitude and appreciation to our leader and Armed Forces.
