American aerospace giant Raytheon has announced that it has been awarded a $619 million naval contract for the SPY-6 family of radars.
Raytheon said the contract includes retrofitting the first Flight IIA destroyers with the upgraded radar.
This is the second option to be implemented since the US Navy signed the contract in March 2022 for the hardware’s production and maintenance, valued at around $3 billion over 5 years.
