The US Army has successfully launched a prototype of the Altius 700, based on UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft, generating positive performance data confirming the capabilities of the Altius 700 throughout all operational phases, including launch, flight, landing, and recovery.
Following the completion of flight testing, the US Army plans to conduct the first test flight of a fully integrated version, showcasing performance with payloads and mission systems controlled by the adaptable initial model.
The US Army has affirmed that if the anticipated test and subsequent evaluations succeed, a final operational test can be conducted by the end of September 2024, with the results intended to assist senior Army leaders in making expedited fielding decisions in fiscal year 2025.
