South Korea tests ‘Sea Sword’ unmanned boats

South Korea has successfully tested new military unmanned boats developed for the army, and the South Korean LIG Nex1 company has successfully completed sea tests of the new unmanned Sea Sword 3 boats developed for the country’s army, between 2019 and 2021 under the South Korean program to develop civilian and military unmanned boats dedicated to quick response.

According to the developers of Sea Sword 3, the design of these boats helps to equip them with various types of equipment according to the tasks that will be entrusted to them, and the technologies that were provided with them enable them to successfully carry out reconnaissance and patrol missions, in addition to the artificial intelligence systems in their guidance systems that enable them to work autonomously and avoid obstacles while performing its tasks.
