The Russian experts at the Engine Design Bureau named after the engineer “Klimov” were able to create an engine that could be used in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.
The head of the “Klimov” office, Vsevolod Ylesiyev, said that the engine is now used in the “Il-112” and “Il-114” and the “Mi-38” helicopter, which has been designated to carry personnel and cargo weighing more than 5 tons.
”At the same time, engineers in the Klimov office are working on creating another new engine, which he described as a revolutionary engine that partially dispenses with lubricant oil,” Ilysiev added. The new engine is more powerful than the engines made for Russian helicopters.
