Rheinmetall is introducing the world’s first 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) intended to broaden the grenade-firing capabilities of modern infantry against enemies hiding behind embankments, cover, or in buildings.
Thanks to Rheinmetall’s approach, the AGL’s design, and handling make it an ideal, portable solution for infantry.
The ALG’s design arrangement and function are similar to an assault rifle, as it relies on a proven assault rifle configuration complete with a recoil-reducing and self-regulating recoil system, barrel assembly, and integrated pistol grip/trigger unit.
The sights allow for some accuracy at range, as the weapon can hit targets as far away as 900 meters.
