Pakistani media have announced the start of production of a new military vessel intended for the Pakistan Navy. According to the available information, work on the manufacture of the new ship of the type (MILGEM) has begun at the Pakistani Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works, and recently the basin witnessed an official event dedicated to celebrate the start of production of the ship.
The said ship is one of 4 ships that the Pakistan Navy had contracted to build with local institutions and Turkish companies in 2018, and the estimated value of the deal to develop these ships, according to information, is $1.5 billion.
These ships will be armed with LY-80 anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as advanced radars capable of tracking about 500 sea, air and land targets simultaneously.
