According to information published by the Facebook account of the Armed Forces of the Republic of South Korea, the K12 General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) developed by the South Korean company S&T Motiv, will be the standard 7.62 mm machine gun for the South Korean Armed Forces. The gun will be delivered to infantry units in the South Korean army, re-placing the old airborne and vehicle mounted M60D.
The K3 K12 machine gun features a foldable, quick-change barrel, gas regulator and M240H flash suppres-sor. No laser or optical viewfinder has yet been selected for use on the K12, but some kind of electro-opti-cal accessory is expected in the near future.
