Japan deploys new combat frigate

Japan has launched a new combat frigate developed for its navy and technicians are scheduled to equip it with the necessary equipment soon in preparation for its testing.

The new frigate is due for delivery to the Japanese Navy in 2023, and it is armed with 127 mm guns, missile launchers, anti-ship missiles with a range of up to 400 km, 324 mm torpedoes, and 12.7 mm machine guns.

The frigate is equipped with a helicopter platform and it is 132.5 m long and 16.3 m wide, with a water displacement rate of 5500 tons.

It is also equipped with both diesel and gas engines that enable it to move at a speed of 30 knots.
