General Atomics reveals New Long Shot Technology

General Atomics, or GA-ASI, has revealed for the first time a technical development of an armed air-to-air combat drone, as part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Long Shot program. GA-ASI, along with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, is working on this project, which aims to develop a drone that can be launched into the air.

The aircraft has a discreet appearance with a prominent spine around the center of the fuselage, the line tapers to meet a high-mounted fixed wing, a prominent V-shaped tail, and a weapon compartment on the aft side of the fuselage with two doors, but it is not clear whether there is a symmetrical one on the other side.
