EU grants 100 million euros to develop Euro drone

The European Union supports the development and manufacture of a drone, as the Armament Agency OCCAR has concluded an agreement worth 100 million euros, for this system which is also known as the “Euro” drone, to be financed from the European Defense Fund (EDF).

The goal of the program is to develop and manufacture 20 unmanned aircraft systems. Each system consists of three aircraft and two ground control stations. It also includes ground support equipment and spare parts including warehousing, training and operational support for the first 6 years. With its aerial surveillance capabilities, the drone is set to become one of the mainstays of the future air combat system.
