During NAVDEX 2023, China unveiled its A45 Reconnaissance & Attack Unmanned Surface Vessel.
The USV A45 is an unmanned surface vessel that is designed for a range of maritime tasks, including patrol, guard, surveillance, reconnaissance, rescue, and transit to ships and naval bases, as well as providing assistance in anti-piracy and drug and weapons smuggling operations.
Equipped with armament systems and built from special materials that make it difficult to detect by radars, the unmanned vessel can also be used for providing support to military operations.
The USV can be controlled remotely via computers or it can be preprogrammed with instructions that enable it to carry out its tasks independently without guidance.
