Britain to develop the capabilities of its naval destroyers

Britain intends to develop the combat capabilities and armament systems of its Navy’s Type-45 destroyers.

MBDA has signed contracts for the modernization of air and missile defense systems on 6 Type-45 destroyers of the British Navy.

Within the framework of the signed contracts, the aforementioned ships will be equipped with air defense systems based on “CAMM” missiles, which will be controlled through new guidance systems that these ships will also receive.

Each Type-45 ship is supposed to receive 24 new CAMM launch cells for air defense, as well as 48 launch cells for Aster-30 systems, which will provide it with an integrated system of close and long-range defense missiles.
