America develops new naval landing ships

The contracts signed with the US Navy currently stipulate that experts will work on studies for a project to develop Light Amphibious landing Warship, (LAW) class, to be different from all current US naval landing ships.

Experts in the US Navy indicated that the new LAW ships will not be a substitute for any type of landing ships currently in their armed forces, but will play a completely new role, and will contribute to the landings intended for small groups of military personnel.

The LAW ships are supposed to come in hulls of about 120 m in length, have a water displacement of 4,000 tons, and be able to transport 75 military personnel and various military equipment.
