Causes of Tingling Sensation in the Head

Feeling a tingling sensation in the head can have various causes, with headaches being the foremost among them, including cluster headaches, tension headaches, and migraines, the German Headache Society has warned.

The society explained that the cause of the tingling sensation in the head may also lie in muscle tension in the back and neck, spinal issues, sinusitis, eye problems, dental and jaw issues, as well as nerve pain, such as trigeminal neuralgia.

Upon experiencing this sensation one should consult a doctor to determine the underlying cause and receive timely treatment, especially if the tingling is accompanied by other symptoms such as light sensitivity, vision disturbances, nausea, and vomiting.

In general, the tingling sensation in the head can be alleviated by staying hydrated, relaxation techniques, and using painkillers such as aspirin, paracetamol, or ibuprofen when necessary.
