The Italian Navy Receives New Warship

A ceremony was recently held at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy to mark the Italian Navy’s acceptance of a new multi-purpose warship, the third PPA-class vessel, from the shipbuilder.

In 2015, Italy approved a naval fleet renewal plan, launching the PPA naval vessel construction project as part of this initiative.

The new 143-meter-long, 16.5-meter-wide PPA ship has a displacement of 4,900 tons, can carry a crew of 173 personnel, sail at a speed of 31 knots, and cover 5,000 nautical miles on each mission.
