Taiwan Test-Fires Cruise Missile

Taiwan has tested a new cruise missile with a range of 1200 km, which would make it capable of reaching mainland China.

Taiwan’s National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) tested the Hsiung Feng surface-to-surface missile, launching it from the island’s southernmost county of Pingtung.

At least six missile tests were scheduled for late last year, but they were canceled because of unfavorable weather conditions and Chinese military exercises near the coast of Taiwan.
