China has celebrated the delivery of two new Type-054A/P class frigates to Pakistan.
Held at the shipbuilding yard in Shanghai, the ceremony was attended by military officials from both countries.
Pakistan signed contracts with China in 2017 to acquire two Type-054A vessels, and in 2018, additional contracts were signed to obtain another pair of these ships.
The Pakistani Navy had earlier indicated that the multi-purpose Type-054A frigates are equipped with the latest countermeasures for airborne, land-based, and maritime threats.
These frigates will be among the most technologically advanced and capable vessels in the country’s armed forces.
