“Navantia” Announces Start Date for Manufacturing the “Avante 1800” for Morocco

Navantia, a Spanish company specialising in the manufacturing of warships, has announced the start date for the construction of the “Avante 1800” ship for the Royal Moroccan Navy. The construction of the “Avante 1800” is expected to take three years.

The ship has a length of approximately 90 metres and a width of 13.2 metres, with a payload capacity of up to 1900 tons. It has a maximum speed of 25 knots and a range of 3000 nautical miles, with the ability to stay at sea for 21 days.

The Avante 1800 is a modern warship armed with a 76mm main gun, 12 cells for launching anti-aircraft missiles, and 8 launchers for anti-ship missiles.

Furthermore, it comes equipped with a 3D radar for air/surface surveillance and an electronic warfare system.
