Commemoration Day an occasion to remember righteous martyrs: Fujairah Ruler

H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has said that Commemoration Day is an occasion to remember the heroic martyrs of the homeland who defended the pride and dignity of this country.

In a statement marking the Commemoration Day, observed annually on 30th November, the Fujairah Ruler said, “It is a source of pride for us to witness the honouring of martyrs of the homeland in recognition and appreciation of their sacrifices and acts of patriotism, as they represent an immortal example of national unity and belonging.”

His Highness added, “Let us stand together with pride and respect before those pure souls and promise them that we will hold the flag of the homeland with pride and preserve their great legacy.”

The Ruler of Fujairah added that the Commemoration Day is an opportunity to celebrate the sacrifices made by the martyrs to protect the glory, assets and gains of the country.

“The sacrifices of the brave martyrs reflected the spirit of loyalty and belonging to the homeland. It has had a profound impact on the people of the UAE. They are a source of inspiration for all. They gave their lives for the homeland and showed the strength of determination and sacrifice,” His Highness added.

These heroic stories reinforce the values of unity and cohesion in society and inspire young people to strive for progress and prosperity in serving the country and preserving its principles.

On this occasion, “We affirm that the UAE – under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates – will remain committed to the values of martyrdom, sacrifice, and loyalty to our heroic martyrs. It will remain a symbol of security and stability for the people of its homeland and all who reside on its land.”
