Patria AMVXP… Finnish Armoured Vehicle With Unique Capabilities & Specifications

The need for extremely mobile and protected armoured wheeled vehicles with high firepower is increasing in modern warfare and its complex environments.

To meet this need, many countries and defence companies have produced various armoured vehicles that can operate in the most complex conditions and environments, perhaps the most prominent of which is “Patria AMVXP”, a state-of-the-art modular, high-performance and robust armoured wheeled vehicle, providing superior protection and mobility.

This AMV has combat-proven operational capabilities making it an iconic part of today’s peacekeeping and crisis management missions.

Patria AMVXP provides the performance and features of a multi-role vehicle, making it perfect for any operation requiring the best mobility, survivability and firepower in any environment.

Furthermore, Patria offers a variety of AMVXP variants to meet the specific needs of its customers worldwide from hot deserts to arctic conditions.

Survivability

Patria AMVXP comes with the highest level of modular ballistic protection and it can be equipped with state-of-the-art active defence systems, ensuring the safety of your troops against IED, NBC, and ballistic threats of up to level K5+.

AMVXP´s mine protection is scalable even above STANAG level 4a/4b, and its optimised shape, low radar and thermal signature boost its superior stealth features.

Mobility

AMVXP has a state-of-the-art fully independent hydropneumatic suspension system and extremely strong chassis construction for high-speed off-road driving.

AMVXP’s unrivalled mobility is based on a high-performance powerline, an Integrated Terrain Control System (ITCS) and optional rear-axle steering.

Furthermore, AMVXP’s large wheel size and CTIS for low ground pressure, Run Flat system and ABS provide enhanced manoeuvrability, in addition, it is available with amphibious capability for water crossing and amphibious landing operations.

Firepower

AMVXP’s chassis characteristics enable the use of any weapon system needed for engaging targets rapidly and with pinpoint accuracy, making it ideal for the integration of medium-calibre weapon systems, direct fire cannon systems up to 120 mm, Patria Nemo 120 mm turreted mortar system and anti-tank or anti-aircraft missile systems.

AMVXP’s high payload and large internal volume enable it to carry all weapon systems, ammunition and crew equipment according to the needs of the mission.

Current and Future efficiency

The vehicle’s networked inter-operability, GVA interface and fully digitalized vehicle data and control systems as well as IoT solutions, ensures troops have the best possible platform to accomplish their mission objectives.

AMVXP’s electrical power generation is measured to match the future requirements for C4I, Battlefield Management and Situational Awareness Systems, as well as Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS).

Diverse mission requirements and the rapidly changing environment demand continuous and efficient product development to keep the equipment always up to date, which makes Patria AMVXP the right choice for the coming decades, as Patria provides reliable maintenance services that take into account future needs as well as the current environmental requirements, so whatever the mission requires today or tomorrow, this armoured vehicle can accomplish it.

Variants

Patria AMVXP has been developed to provide optimal modularity of components and to be adaptable for a wide range of versions without changing basic vehicle systems, with the basic model providing the platform for the following variants.

The Basic Model

The Basic model can be used as an armoured personnel carrier (APC), infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), command vehicle, ambulance, reconnaissance vehicle, and an armoured repair and recovery vehicle (ARRV), in addition, it features anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) and the 120 mm Patria Nemo mortar system.

The High Roof Model

This variant provides extra space at the rear of the vehicle (34 cm higher than the basic model), which is ideal if the vehicle is used as a command, C4I, ambulance or workshop vehicle.

The Heavy Weapon Model

This variant has been optimised to carry large-calibre weapon systems such as the 120 mm AMOS mortar system or the 105/120 mm mobile cannons (MGS).

All 3 models and all their variants of AMVXP are available as 40 cm longer vehicles.
