Turkish Navy accepts delivery of helicopter and drone carrier

The Turkish Navy accepted the delivery of a new locally made landing helicopter dock (LHD) and drone carrier.

The ship is 231 metres long and 32 metres wide, has a displacement of about 27,000 tons and can travel 9,000 nautical miles per mission.

The ship can carry 12 medium or 8 large helicopters, in addition to 4 LCM landing boats or 2 LCAC boats.

The ship’s weapons system includes 20 mm cannons, 25 mm machine guns, and RAM anti-air missile systems.

Furthermore, there are plans to equip it with unmanned aircraft and submarines, AS-532 multi-role helicopters and S-70B anti-submarine helicopters.
