The new Trajan howitzer

Trajan is a French 155 mm/L52 howitzer, developed by Nexter, combining a modified carriage of the TR-F1 field howitzer with the ordnance of the French CAESAR truck-mounted howitzer.
The Trajan is compatible with all standard 155 mm artillery shells and has a maximum range of fire of about 30 km with standard shells.
This howitzer can reach 42 km with extended-range shell and 55 km with rocket-assisted (VLAP) shell, while its range of direct fire is 2 km.
This howitzer is also compatible with smart ammunition, including BONUS and SPACIDO guided shells. The BONUS shell carries two smart anti-tank submunitions to a range of 34 km.
