Belarus Showcases New Air Defence System to Asian Markets

Belarus has presented a scale model of its new medium-range air defence system, the Buk-MB2K, designed to counter a wide range of aerial and surface threats.

The Buk-MB2K is built to operate effectively under conditions of intense electronic warfare and coordinated attacks.

Moreover, the system is mounted on a wheeled chassis powered by a 500-horsepower diesel engine, enabling a top road speed of 60 kilometres per hour and an operational range of up to 700 kilometres.

The system’s radar is capable of detecting fighter-sized targets at distances of up to 130 kilometres and tracking them at 110 kilometres when flying at an altitude of 3,000 metres. It can also detect hovering helicopters flying as low as 30 metres from a distance of 8 kilometres.
