The United States appears to be entering a new era of air dominance with the quiet introduction of its latest sixth-generation stealth fighter, the F-47.
For more than a decade, the F-35 Lightning II defined American air superiority, bringing fifth-generation technology that placed the US well ahead of global rivals. Yet, while debate continues over the cost of sustaining modern air power, the next chapter has already begun to unfold.
The F-47, developed under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programme, has reportedly moved beyond theory into operational reality. Described as a “sky monster”, the aircraft is said to combine extreme speed, cutting-edge stealth, and overwhelming power. According to reports, it has already been deployed on highly classified missions.
Although official details remain scarce, defence analysts suggest the F-47 could mark a decisive leap in aerial warfare—one that redefines the limits of fighter aircraft design and firmly extends US dominance well into the coming decades.
