The US Army has conducted a field test of the ULTRA autonomous tactical vehicle, developed to reduce risks in frontline logistics operations. The system’s name stands for “Uncrewed Long-range Transport and Resupply Autonomy” and is designed to perform independent logistical missions in highly contested environments without the need for a human operator or remote control — providing the Army with a strategic edge in autonomous ground resupply.
The vehicle is equipped with a multi-sensor navigation suite that includes high-resolution cameras, LiDAR, non-GPS positioning tools, inertial measurement units, and thermal imaging. It has also been engineered to withstand electronic warfare, ensuring resilient performance in modern battlefield conditions.
