United States Army Reinforces Digital Superiority with Successful Tactical SATCOM Trials

The United States Army has announced the successful completion of a series of field trials for its Tactical SATCOM system in February 2026, conducted under the PTS-G programme to strengthen resilient and secure communications networks in complex combat environments.

The trials were carried out in cooperation with Viasat and Northrop Grumman. The system demonstrated its ability to maintain high-definition video transmission and intelligence data flows despite intense electronic jamming, underscoring its robustness in contested electromagnetic environments.

Tactical SATCOM enables the integration of small satellites with forward-deployed units, enhancing operational connectivity and decision-making speed on the battlefield. The architecture is designed to ensure continuity of communications even under sustained electronic warfare pressure.

The programme marks a decisive step towards adaptive and regenerative network structures suited to digital warfare, reinforcing the United States’ dominance in military communications and strengthening strategic deterrence through assured connectivity.
