UK Tests New Radio-Frequency Weapon to Counter Drone Swarms

The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence has announced the successful testing of a new radio-frequency weapon designed to disable drone swarms.

Developed by an industrial consortium led by the UK branch of French defence company Thales, the prototype system uses targeted radio waves to disrupt the electronics of hostile drones mid-flight. According to the Ministry of Defence, this emerging technology represents a cost-effective alternative to traditional missile-based air defence systems.

The system is capable of neutralizing aerial threats at ranges of up to one kilometer and is particularly effective against drones that are resistant to conventional electronic warfare measures.
