UAE Flag Day: A Symbol of Unity, Pride and Lasting Loyalty

Every year on 3 November, the United Arab Emirates celebrates Flag Day—a cherished national occasion that reflects the journey of the Union and the highest meanings of loyalty and belonging to this land and its wise leadership. On this proud day, hearts and hands are raised in salute to the UAE flag, which has flown high since the declaration of the Union on 2 December 1971, and continues to rise proudly on every platform, with every achievement, and in fields of honour and dignity.

Flag Day is not merely a passing celebration; it is a moment of deep pride and national unity. It reaffirms the strength of the Emirati spirit and renews the pledge to follow the vision of the leadership in building a strong, prosperous nation capable of overcoming the challenges of today and shaping a brighter future for generations to come. Raising the flag on this historic day is a renewed declaration of loyalty to the values of the Union and to the vision laid down by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and the Founding Fathers.

This day also serves as an important opportunity to reinforce national identity and instill a sense of responsibility in the hearts of citizens and residents alike. People of all ages gather under one flag—symbolising dignity, unity and pride—in a country that has become a global model of progress, development and inclusive growth. For the UAE, the flag is a message of sacrifice, generosity and unwavering dedication.

Flag Day is also a tribute to the UAE Armed Forces, who proudly raise the nation’s flag in fields of honour, defending truth, safeguarding sovereignty, and preserving the security and stability of the homeland. We salute our brave soldiers who have embodied, and continue to embody, the highest examples of sacrifice and devotion so that the flag remains flying high and the UAE remains a haven of peace, security and stability.

May our flag forever fly with pride and glory, and may our nation remain strong, safe and prosperous under the guidance of its wise leadership.
