Turkey’s domestically developed Siper long-range air defence system has successfully passed serial production acceptance tests, marking a pivotal step in Ankara’s drive to establish a fully independent, multi-layered national air shield.
Designed to intercept high-altitude threats — including fighter aircraft, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles — the Siper system has an estimated range of 150 kilometres.
Billed as the crown jewel of Turkey’s “Steel Dome” project, Siper forms the long-range tier of an integrated network that combines short-, medium-, and long-range air defence capabilities into a single cohesive system.
