The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh

The United Arab Emirates continues to stand as a steadfast model in consolidating security and stability, underpinned by an integrated system of armed forces and security institutions that have, over decades, demonstrated exceptional readiness and professional competence in safeguarding the nation and preserving its achievements.

Building on this distinguished legacy, Al Jundi Journal extends its profound appreciation and pride to the brave men of the Armed Forces, and to their counterparts across the various security agencies, who remain on the front lines—vigilant in protecting the homeland and embodying the highest ideals of loyalty and belonging.

In this context, the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership—foremost among them those of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces—reaffirm that the security, sovereignty, and safety of the UAE, along with all who reside on its soil, remain a paramount priority that allows no compromise or negligence. This clear message reflects a consistent approach grounded in firmness in confronting threats, alongside openness in fostering peace.

Experience has shown that maintaining security is no longer the responsibility of a single institution, but rather a comprehensive national endeavour—one in which the roles of the Armed Forces, security agencies, and all state institutions converge, supported by a vigilant and aware society that recognises its responsibilities.

Against this solid foundation, the importance of constant vigilance emerges in the face of challenges aimed at undermining confidence in national institutions. In response, the people of the UAE continue to demonstrate their sense of responsibility through awareness, strong national belonging, and a firm rejection of any attempts at misinformation or doubt.

The UAE’s message of deterrence remains clear and resolute: the security of the homeland is a red line, and its defence and security capabilities are fully equipped to confront any threat, regardless of its source or nature.

In conclusion, the UAE—guided by the determination of its people and the wisdom of its leadership—will continue to safeguard its security, strengthen its global standing, and protect its hard-won achievements. The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh, its resolve remains unshaken, and its strength far exceeds what some may perceive. The nation will endure as a symbol of unity, sovereignty, and prudence, just as envisioned since the founding of the Union.
